Fashionably Versatile

There is one fashion issue we all run into every now and again, and that’s how to wear coveted pieces from season to season.  One piece that can survive  the cold months of winter right through the sweltering summer days is the denim shirt.  Denim, chambray, jean – call it what you want but also wear it with whatever you want!  The denim trend has caught on like fire in recent years and it continues to hold strong with so many favoring the denim shirt.  Styling it has become a favorite past time of mine and let’s face it, one can never have too many of these shirts.  Pair it with a statement necklace and printed skinnies & heels – you’ll look like you walked out of the latest J.Crew catalog.  Below are some ways you can change it up with chambray!

I Need These…

I was checking my e-mail from this week which is usually FULL of deals, discounts, new arrival alerts, etc., from all of my favorite stores, brands and designers.  There was one e-mail in particular that caught my attention and it was from Tory Burch, featuring these beauties below.

Can there be a more perfect spring-time shoe?  These Marlow Loafers would go amazingly with a pair of skinny jeans or boyfriend jeans rolled up (a spring staple).  They look so comfy and can be worn to run around in (not literally) all day without suffering pain.  I’m thinking these are going to have to be a purchase sometime in the near future!

Must See Movie

I will not take too long to explain my every reason and desire for wanting to see this documentary film, Scatter My Ashes at Bergdorf’s. However, I will say this – I must see it in all it’s fashionably, fabulous glory with basically all of the power players in fashion today.  The movie focuses on the iconic store and all that happens inside one of the fashion capitols of the world.  It will open in New York on May 3rd and in other cities after that.

Coral for Spring

I can’t think of a punchier, perkier or more perfect color for spring than coral.  It’s the just-right mix of pastel and bright, depending on the hue you choose.  It compliments every skin color.  It also goes with every color of the rainbow – so color and outfit combos are truly endless!  Coral is also a perfect color to wear into the hot summer months.  But for now, we will just use it as a summer buffer to wear during the spring months.  The above look is from J. Crew and it inspired me to scour sites for everything coral to add to my closet.

April Showers Bring May Flowers

Happy April everyone!  As if planned out by Mother Nature herself, today was a beautiful first day of the month, that quickly ended with some showers.  But not to worry, I’ll take a month of rain showers once I get to see some gorgeous flowers blooming!  However, we must be prepared to withstand the damp and rainy conditions first.  Below are some of the looks I found that not only incorporate some fashionable styles, they are also completely weather-appropriate.

The essentials for this look will not only keep you warm but dry and obviously trendy.  Grab a traditional (and always conventional) trench coat, pair it with rubber rain boots and don’t forget to grab an umbrella to protect your hair and you’ve got the rain day look down pat.
