Justin Timberlake’s 20/20 Experience Tour

After disappointing a sold-out crowd on Wednesday night after he canceled his show, Justin Timberlake put on quite an amazing show on Friday (the postponed date).  As an avid, life-long Justin Timberlake fan, I can honestly say that he just gets better and more entertaining with age.  (He even took a 10-15 minute break mid-show then came back out and said “I’m 33 now, I need those breaks,” in a joking manner of course).

Justin opened with “Pusher Love Girl” and played all of the fan-favorites as well as some of his newer songs (my favorite – “That Girl”) and even threw in some Elvis and Michael Jackson hits before closing with the popular “Mirrors.”  Not only did Justin sing his heart out, he also showed off his moves (still got ‘em) and sat down at the piano for a couple songs as well as played guitar for part of the show.

The most anticipated part of the show (due to the fact that early on, Justin addressed the audience “Those in the back.. I see you, we’re going to talk about that in a bit”) was when the whole stage set moved out over the crowd and to the back of the Garden.  Justin came down to the VIP area and greeted fans (so awesome!) as he passed through.

What a night and what a show!  Justin gets a 10 out of 10 in my book, but then again I’m a bit biased!

Happy Saturday!

Hope everyone is having a lovely weekend so far! I know I am, considering the fact that I checked my back account this morning and, “hello tax return!” That totally means crossing some much-wanted needed things off of my wish lists!

Will definitely be looking in to some things from the new Madewell catalog!

Other than that, hope to have another post or two up later this weekend. Enjoy everyone!

Looking for some spring inspiration from the pastels collection, for sure! (And sipping on an iced latte from a cute coffee shop near me!)

Live Without Fear

20130320-203356.jpg

(quote from Olivia Wilde, Marie Claire, April 2013)

Lets face it, sometimes it’s hard to be positive. We’re brought up in a culture where negativity exceeds the positive. Living your dreams is so difficult because that would mean having hope and faith, being optimistic in an otherwise realist or pessimistic world. Living without fear is almost unthinkable because that would mean taking chances, doing things without thinking of the consequences, and truly going after what we want.  Why is it so hard?  Because getting let down is really up there on the “worst feelings” list.  Imagine the idea of going after your dream, working hard and doing everything you think you should do to find out you failed.

But that’s just the thing.  You didn’t fail.  This may seem crazy, but as long as you stay optimistic and positive, you cannot fail in anything.  So something didn’t work out.  That just means something better is coming or what you were going after wouldn’t really have made you happy in the end.  How you react to a situation is the real challenge.  So something bad happened to you.  Do you react in the usual way and let it upset you, ruin your day, make you think that your life is the worst and that things will never get better?  Or, do you let it happen, realize it wasn’t great and just let it go, roll off your shoulders and go on with your day making the honest effort to be happy and see things in a good way? I hope you chose the latter because you’ll change your outlook on life forever if you do.

If you really want the perfect life, everything you want – you must start with yourself.  Wake up each day and see it as a new opportunity.  Be thankful for the smallest things and eventually you will have most significant things and situations to be thankful for.  See your life as good.  Stop with the “everything is terrible, nothing goes my way” downward spiral and just realize everything you have RIGHT NOW is enough.

So maybe you don’t have the perfect job, relationship, situation, car, WHATEVER.  So what?  Make changes and you eventually will.  Is your life really so terrible?  Put things into perspective.  Look how far you’ve come from last month, last year – aren’t things different?  Have you gained ANYTHING good in your life?  Chances are you have.

When you start being positive and grateful for little things, and letting yourself dream and really want things, believing they will come true and that you deserve them – they will!  You have the power to change your life, so stop going through the motions and having things stay the same.  Be happy.  Be nice to others.  Say thank you – and really mean it.  And above all, take chances and do so without fear or anything that holds you back.

Life is only so long, why not make it the most perfect one for you!  Change your thinking today and you will change the rest of your outcomes forever.

Hoarding Magazines For Fun

I have a love obsession for magazines, fashion-related ones to be more specific.  I am currently subscribed to 9 and that number just seems to increase. But my mailbox is not the only thing that has a problem each month (the September issues that happened to arrive 3 at a time definitely resulted in my mailman hating me). My room, closet and any spare space I have are dwindling fast because…. I am a magazine hoarder.

I really don’t know how or why it started but a few years ago I had a hard time parting ways with the previous months’ issues so I stored them on a shelf. Fast forward a few months and that shelf was full. This continued and I found myself with stacks, piles, rows of Glamour, Cosmo, InStyle etc.   I used to just keep the issues that featured my name in the credits from internships that I participated in.  Now, I just love to keep them all – even if my name is nowhere to be found.

I’m usually tidy with other things – if I haven’t worn a piece of clothing in a while, it goes. I clean almost every weekend because clutter and dust just give me anxiety. But why the attachment to magazines? I still don’t know, nor do I care.  It’s not even like I go back and re-read them to find out how each publication tells me how to get a great smoky eye, I just like the comfort of having them.

Am I seriously weird for having this obsession? How long until I realize they are taking over my life? I have no idea but I do know that if you are in need of some reading material to pass the time, I’m your girl!

Do What You Love

Love this quote and I believe it whole-heartedly.  All I liked doing at work or while doing anything else was to write about, read about, talk about and just immerse myself in fashion!  So I started this blog.

Do whatever you love and have a passion for. It’s the only way to live life!

Great Find! Glitter Loafers

Loafers are so in for this fall season so I knew that I had to purchase a pair.  However, when I laid my eyes on these sparkling babies I had to get my hands on them.  Needless to say, I’m a sucker for ANYTHING glitter so these obviously already had a place in my closet.  They are Steve Madden (madden girl) and they go with basically everything.  Who else is getting loafers this season?

Fashion’s Night Out 2012

Although I have to admit last night was a bit hectic and too unplanned so I didn’t get to see as much as I wanted, but being in the atmosphere of Fashion’s Night Out was enough for me! Plus, there is really only one photo that captures FNO, and just fashion in general merging with art, culture and New York City.  Below is a photo I took last night outside of Barney’s,  of a gorgeous and completely genius display of Louboutin’s – surrounded by identical colored fish!  Amazing, artistic, creative, innovative!  So many words to describe it and I loved seeing this in person! Enjoy that and the rest of my (very few) photos!
