Our Engagement Photos

Wedding planning has completely taken over my life and I love every second of it.  It’s made me want to start my own wedding/event planning business!

I wanted to share some of our amazing engagement photos from our photographer Christy Nicole.  She took the most beautiful photos this day (which started with rain then turned into humidity- don’t mind my frizzy hair) and I cannot wait for her to shoot our wedding.  These were taken back in November but I’m just now getting around to posting – wedding planning is seriously a second job!

Matt and I love Christmas-time.  We started dating around this time of year so it holds a special place in our hearts.  So, what better theme to go with for our engagement photos than Christmas!  We went to a near-by Christmas tree farm for the shoot.  I came up with this little set-up (I love the use of props!) and purchased that cute date banner from Etsy.   All other rentals are from Eat Sleep Vintage.

Get Ready for the Most Fashionable Christmas Ever!

To say that I enjoy Christmas would be the biggest understatement I’ve ever made in my life.  But let’s be real… Everyone waits all year long for this most magical holiday!  Christmas lights go up, Christmas music is starting to be played on radio stations and Starbucks holiday beverages are served (very possibly my favorite part!).   So, when I saw the J. Crew/Mastercard  AND the Marks & Spencer holiday commercials released on the same day, I couldn’t help my little Christmas-loving-self!  I had to share them!

Being that J. Crew is one of my favorite brands, I instantly loved the ensemble choices throughout the commercial.  Sparkly, preppy and all-around cozy is the theme of this adorable commercial (and I love the Jenna Lyons-esque little girl)!  J. Crew really needs to make commercials all year long.

First of all, I have a bone to pick with someone on this.  Dear USA, why are our commercials not these chic, gorgeous mini-movies?  Rosie Huntington-Whiteley is beautiful in this Alice In Wonderland/Aladdin/Wizard of Oz mash-up.  Oh, and how genius to make the Tin “man” & the Lion played by women!   I want to live in this Marks & Spencer world until December 25th!

Safe to say, I (and now you) are so in the full-on Christmas spirit!

Tis the Season to Shine

When you look around during this time of year, nothing about the holidays are understated.  Everything is lit up, glittering, sparkling and catching your eyes and attention wherever you set your gaze.  Your fashion choices should be no different!  What better excuse than a holiday party, Christmas Eve and New Years Eve, or just because you want to shine along with everything around you, to wear some shimmery, glitzy GOLD!  Adorn yourself with anything gold and you are insta-glam.  The gold trend is the most appropriate look for this time of year (because when else will you look festive and not freakish walking around in your sparkly gold lame dress, black tights and killer heels?  Oh right, never.)  The best part about gold is that you can never over-do it.  Wear that gold mini, stilettos, bangles, oversize necklace- you name it, you can wear it!  Happy Sparkling!
