Awards Season has arrived!! (We can count this as a legit awards show right?) And that means the season’s latest fashion will be splashed across red carpets for the next few months – I personally am so excited, it’s like another holiday for me.
If these ensembles were a glimpse into the future of what is to come, we can expect to see a lot of a)pants/suits for ladies, b)sparkles and c) cutouts. At the PCA’s there were some decent showings and others were complete disasters. However, I’m all about the positives so let’s take a look at my choices for the BEST dressed stars!
Sarah Hyland in an embellished number by Christian Siriano – love the monochromatic look created by incorporating the same metallic accessories.
Portia de Rossi in a Zuhair Murad jumpsuit – loving the deep blue and sexy yet sophisticated pants!
Allison Janey in a gorgeous Rani Zakhem gown – girlfriend totally wanted a “I’m the host” dress and this was just perfect!
Olivia Munn in Giambattista Valli sequined striped look. This may be too casual on any other red carpet, but to me this just fit perfectly and looked so amazing on her!
Viola Davis in a bright Escada gown. Maybe it’s because I love pink or because this bright color makes me think of summer while I’m currently freezing in these frigid temps – but i.love.this.dress!
And of course the biggest trend of the night – everyone looked great in BLACK!
Is there anyone else out there who gets those excitement butterflies, kid-on-Christmas morning feeling when another Fashion Week has arrived? I get so anxious waiting to see the new lines of clothes and accessories being presented down the runway.
But the Holy Grail of all Fashion Weeks has started and WOW has it left all of us fashionistas weak in the knees. Couture week is not just about fashion. This is about a dream world – living the celebrity life and deciding which of these gorgeously crafted gowns will be the winner to wear on the red carpet. So excuse me for the rest of this pst as I enter my fashion fantasy world and re-live the fairytale that was Zuhair Murad’s Fall 2014 Couture show.
The intricate beading. The bold colors. The slim gowns, but ALSO the fuller silhouettes. EVERYTHING about this collection was astonishingly beautiful and effortlessly sexy. And I’m super confident that at least ONE of these gowns will be appearing on the red carpet very soon!
There are so many points that could be covered from last nights CFDA awards, but let’s focus on the major highlight…or shining moment, should I say?
Rihanna, the CFDA Fashion Icon recipient f0r 2014 showed exactly why she deserved the award by absolutely DESTROYING any other competition, by arriving decked out in a custom-made gown of head-to-toe Swarovski crystals by Adam Selman. Accompanying this bedazzled dress was a matching head wrap and gloves and a fur pink stole. And I mean, just LOOK at those sparklers on her fingers and hanging from her ears.
Rihanna truly did “shine bright like a diamond” (sorry, had to) and was an obvious choice for this highly-fashionably award. In love with each and every part of this look! What did you think of her choice of ensemble?
