There are some things you associate with spring like florals, pastels and breezy clothing. Metallics, though? For Spring 2014, designers including Altuzarra(above), Diane von Furstenberg, Zimmerman, Kate Spade and Emilio Pucci, just to name a few, sent shiny golds and silvers down the runway to surprise us all. While donning a shimmery gold or silver number for New Years seems all too predictable, change it up this year by inserting some jolts of shine into your warmer-weather wardrobe. If your outlook on metallics is still a bit conservative, try incorporating metallic accessories (those Marc Jacobs slides? “Ugly” and metallic = perfection).
If you’re like me, you’re still re-living NYFW in your head. Why you ask? I love the thought of knowing that once next fall comes around, comfy-chic is in! Yes, Marc Jacobs confirmed it and I am all about it! Long johns, knit sweaters and long, oversize everything is what his Fall 2014 collection encompasses. (And yes, maybe a half-nude Kardashian too, but please she’s had enough press time devoted to her.)
While “comfort” may be in, this is still fashion week and there are still some glam-standards to uphold. Marc Jacobs also incorporated shots of sparkle, ruffle and warm luxurious furs. Needless to say, it still isn’t acceptable to walk out of the house in sweats (sorry) but Marc Jacobs is definitely letting us push that limit with this collection.
We as ladies tend to carry (or over-carry) many different items in our bags. However, just because we have a lot to bring along with us, it doesn’t mean that we have one less hand or arm – being taken up by holding our purses. The crossbody bag is so perfect for summer (or any time of the year really) because we need all of our limbs free to hold and sip drinks, tote around our shopping bags or hail a cab. These shoulder bags contain all that we need to get us through a day and night but keep our hands free. I like to get brightly colored ones for spring and summer and a more neutral color like black or brown for the cooler weather. A statement accessory and a carrier for all our
unnecessary belongings. I chose all of my favorites from Bergdorf’s below!

Suri the Fashionista herself is sporting one!
Happy April everyone! As if planned out by Mother Nature herself, today was a beautiful first day of the month, that quickly ended with some showers. But not to worry, I’ll take a month of rain showers once I get to see some gorgeous flowers blooming! However, we must be prepared to withstand the damp and rainy conditions first. Below are some of the looks I found that not only incorporate some fashionable styles, they are also completely weather-appropriate.
The essentials for this look will not only keep you warm but dry and obviously trendy. Grab a traditional (and always conventional) trench coat, pair it with rubber rain boots and don’t forget to grab an umbrella to protect your hair and you’ve got the rain day look down pat.
With Fashion Week in full swing, every fashionista needs to be prepared for the unexpected and that means carrying a lot of extra essentials in your bag while running around NYC. Luckily for us, designers have created the perfect bag for toting around our alarming collection of necessary items – the Trapeze Tote. What started strictly with Celine, the Trapeze Tote has been expanded and is included by many other designers and now we have the difficult decision of picking our favorite. With a top handle, winged-out sides and coming in a larger size there is basically nothing that can compare to this do-it-all, carry-it-all, fit-it-all bag. Best part is you won’t have to decide what you must leave behind – just throw it all in and be on your way. See some of my favorites below!
