Dippin Dots

There are some things that are timeless and one of these things (in fashion, at least) is polka dots!  Wear this print from winter through to summer.  Wear it on top, bottom, on your feet, splashed across a bag or scarf.  Basically, if you wear polka dots, you can’t go wrong.  It gives a girly, preppy, sophisticated pop without being too overly cutesy.  Choose small or larger dots and you can change a look!  With so many options, why would you choose any other print?  Get dotty.

MK Goes Nautical

If there is one thing I love (not to mention one thing that never goes out of style), it’s stripes.  Thank goodness one of my favorite designers has basically centered his whole spring collection around the nautical-inspired lines.  In an abundance of bold colors like navy, green and red, Michael Kors stretches stripes over blazers, bags and dresses.  To put it very bluntly, I decided I wanted to live in the MK Spring Catalog when I got it in the mail.  See some of my favorite striped looks and items below!

Urban Outfitters Spring Lookbook

Urban Outfitters Spring lookbook is a California, hipster paradise.  UO mixes lightweight daydresses, knits, button downs, tees and crop tops in pastel colors and prints from floral to polka dot.  Add in some sorbet colored skinny cropped jeans, flowy skirts and denim cut-offs paired with holographic handbags and colorful accessories and you’ve got yourself a fun spring wardrobe!  My personal favorite is the polka dot crop top and matching shorts!

You’re the Bomb

There’s nothing more important than a transitional piece of outerwear for these upcoming still-cool-but-it’s-spring months.  The perfect item is the bomber jacket.  While it will not weigh you down or make you uncomfortably warm when unnecessary, the bomber jacket is a great piece to dress up or down and it’s totally practical.

Don’t Forget the Basics for Spring ’13

While most may think of an abundance of colors for the Spring months, Alexander Wang decided to give colors the season off and stuck with basic blacks, whites, grays and creams.  However, there really is nothing basic about his collection – with leather accents, major cut-outs (including some seriously intense cutout, strappy shoes), zippers and mega-sexy high slits and low V cuts, the designer has got us begging Mother Nature to bring on the warm weather to wear these pieces!  See some of the looks below, enjoy!

Allover Stripes

One trend that seems to never go out of style is the famous print of stripes.  Vertical, horizontal, or chevron print, stripes are found on tops, pants, jackets and everywhere in-between.  This print is pretty, preppy and just presents the person who wears it as put together.  It’s clean and crisp and definitely pulls together an outfit.  See some of my favorite below.

Boyfriend Jeans

One of the best things to come out of the men we date are their clothes!  All over we have seen menswear inspired looks – first the oversize men’s watch, then came the menswear tailoring of suits.  However, the most wearable (and comfortable) look that comes from the boys are their slouchy, distressed, cuffed jeans.  Pair them with some girly accessories (they look amazing with heels or booties) and not only will you be wearing the men’s pants, you’ll have all of them looking as well!  Try to find a pair that isn’t TOO baggy – you still want to show off your shape.  Here are some looks for inspiration!

Black & White & Mod All Over

Marie Claire recently had a photo shoot showcasing the ever-popular colors : black and white.  The magazine paired some fabulous looks with a bob-sporting model.  While I’m indifferent about the hair, the clothes speak volumes all by themselves.  With graphic prints and sharp lines adorning suits, dresses and separates, black and white never looked so good.  No need to read anymore from me, see for yourself!
