Grammy’s 2015 Best Dressed

As I was watching the Grammy’s Red Carpet last night, I was thinking there would be ZERO best dressed choices.  I mean, you’ve got to agree with me – there were so many AWFUL looks that I believe the best dressed stood out even more. Before I get to my best dressed ladies, I have to say I’m LOVING the all-natural makeup look.  For real – Nicki Minaj, Chrissy Teigen, Beyonce and Rihanna (just to name a few stand-outs) looked flawless in their no-makeup makeup look.  Fresh faced and simple hair is going to be a huge trend this year and I’m soooo okay with it – low maintenance = less getting ready time!

Anyways, on to the best ensembles of the night:

Jessie J in Ralph and Russo.  At first, I hated/loathed the whole sheer dress with granny panties showing, but it has definitely grown on me.  Loving this look!

Chrissy Teigen in Gucci.  So sexy, yet also tasteful.  I love the bright white paired with natural mermaid waves.

Meghan Trainor in Galia Lahav.  See Jessie J – you get the jist.

Katy Perry in Zuhair Murad.  Coming from someone who usually goes for shock-factor (and not in a good way), I actually loved this different look for her!  Every detail from her lavender hair to her simple strap heels.

Taylor Swift in Elie Saab.  No other explanation needed. ❤

Beyonce, aka Queen Bey in Proenza Schouler.  Bow down. She truly is.. flawless. (Had to)

The jury is still out on…….

Rihanna in Giambattista Valli.  This is SO Giambattista Valli to a T, but somehow, it never translates on the red carpet (remember the disaster that was Lena Dunham at the Emmy’s last year?).  Looking at all the factors, I should love this – my favorite color, big and poufy with some embellishment.  But… just… I don’t know.  The verdict is still out….

The Crossbody Lifesaver

crossbodyintro

We as ladies tend to carry (or over-carry) many different items in our bags.  However, just because we have a lot to bring along with us, it doesn’t mean that we have one less hand or arm – being taken up by holding our purses.  The crossbody bag is so perfect for summer (or any time of the year really) because we need all of our limbs free to hold and sip drinks, tote around our shopping bags or hail a cab.  These shoulder bags contain all that we need to get us through a day and night but keep our hands free.  I like to get brightly colored ones for spring and summer and a more neutral color like black or brown for the cooler weather.  A statement accessory and a carrier for all our unnecessary belongings.  I chose all of my favorites from Bergdorf’s below!

P.S. Clearly these bags are THE bag to have this season since Suri the Fashionista herself is sporting one!

Holographic Extras

When I was younger, the only “holographic” that mattered to kids was if their Pokemon cards were holographic or not.  Now, holographic accessories have taken over the fashion world.  Spotted on the feet or slung over the shoulder of the best dressers, hologram-covered extras were all the rage at New York Fashion Week.  Designers apparently can’t choose just one color, so they choose hologram and get all the colors of the rainbow!  This trippy trend has totally caught my attention (though not so sure I would wear it) and it’s about to catch on even more once all the new collections arrive at stores in the upcoming seasons.  Check out these extras below!

Fall’s It Bag: Black & Structured

While many of any upcoming season’s trends and fashions may not be too conventional, this fall’s bags are all that and more.  We may see lots of prints and busy outfits however going overboard is not what this season’s bags are about.  Black, structured and perfectly acceptable for work and school, all you’ll need to figure out is what to fill it with. (I’m sure us ladies won’t have a problem with that!) Below are my suggestions. Enjoy!
