SJP Fall 2014 at Nordstrom

When Carrie Bradshaw Sarah Jessica Parker introduced her brand new shoe line last season at Nordstrom, it was a Sex & the City/shoe lover’s dream come true.   Ms. ‘I’ve spent $40,000 on shoes and I have no place to live? I will literally be the old woman who lived in her shoes!’ did not disappoint in the designing department.  However, her SJP Fall 2014 collection has me gasping for air (and searching for some extra cash)!  I have to get my feet in those leather booties and semi-caged knee-high boots!  In addition to footwear, Parker also included brand new handbags.  The bags aren’t my favorite but I’m sure that’s only because the shoes completely steal the show.  See some of my favorites below and find the complete collection at Nordstrom.

Let Me Mule It Over

Mules
1. Zara Shiny Leather High Heel Mules // 2. Jenni Kayne Perforated Pointed Toe Mules // 3. Aldo Acaren Heeled Mule Shoes // 4. Alexander Wang Glossed-Leather Mules // 5. Vince Camuto Peep Toe Platform Mule Sandals // 6. Topshop Waltz Perforated Mules

Few things make a gal happier than slipping into a fabulous new pair of shoes (and I mean FEW).  This Spring, the hottest trend in footwear are these half-heel-half-clog, all-around perfect mules.  Grab a pair that is perforated or that has cut-outs and you’ll have a brand new go-to shoe for every possible outfit!

Emoji This

They’re everywhere!  Texts, tweets, even appearing in magazines!  Emoji’s are taking over the world and the way we communicate but now you can wear these cute little smiley faces.  Moda Operandi has launched a Del Toro x Edie Parker collaboration line of loafers and clutches adorned with emojis. (Oh, and don’t worry, the ever-popular #hastag was not forgotten.)  While emojis spruce up our internet dialogue and conversations, have they gone too far?  How long before they take over the world?!  I’m getting ahead of myself.  Either way – I’m not sure I’ll start wearing my emo(j)itions on my clothing.  Though this line of M’Oticons has definitely come up with some very clever and cute pairings.  See my favorites below and the rest of the line at Moda Operandi.

I Need These…

I was checking my e-mail from this week which is usually FULL of deals, discounts, new arrival alerts, etc., from all of my favorite stores, brands and designers.  There was one e-mail in particular that caught my attention and it was from Tory Burch, featuring these beauties below.

Can there be a more perfect spring-time shoe?  These Marlow Loafers would go amazingly with a pair of skinny jeans or boyfriend jeans rolled up (a spring staple).  They look so comfy and can be worn to run around in (not literally) all day without suffering pain.  I’m thinking these are going to have to be a purchase sometime in the near future!

Give Your Heels (and Feet) a Break!

While most fashionistas love, love, LOVE their heels, you may want to leave yours behind and slip on some sneakers instead.  Yes, sneakers and no, you’re not going to the gym.  Isabel Marant changed the way we view sneakers by adding a chic wedge and provided the kicks in an abundance of colors.  Now designers all over are hopping (or should I say running) on the sneakers bandwagon and delivering a brand new array of comfortable footwear.  The best part about these cult sneakers is that you can dress them down or even up!

Building Blocks of Fashion

Color blocking is and has been a major trend in the fashion world as of recent.  I love it because it is so simple yet it shows such elegance and anyone who struts their stuff while rocking (or blocking) this trend just looks so well put together.  You can do it with any color of the rainbow and take it to any extremity you want – whether it be an entire color blocked outfit or just grabbing a color blocked clutch to go with your outfit.  See some examples below as well as my picks for some color blocked accessories.
